Dr. Amandeep Kaur: A million years ago when it was freezing cold and darkness all around the world, God created FIRE to spread warmth of love and light of hope everywhere. Cute warm and glowing fire was very happy with her duty and she was loved by everyone in the whole world. Seeing the wonderful job of lovely Fire, the sages decided that they would start every good work with the beloved Fire as a witness. Now Fire was feeling on top of the world.
One day suddenly her eyes fell on Water. She started feeling very special at first glance. Now her happiness knew no bounds. She started doing her work better than before. Everyone now started feeling a different glow in the fire. Little Fire was completely unaware of her new radiance. There were only love and happiness everywhere. Day by day the radiant fire slowly began to realize the love hidden behind this new glow. At last, when she heard the sound of flickering water in her ears, she was convinced that she had fallen in love with water. She was eager to share her loving feelings with water and to see the love reflected in his heart for herself.
But one day she learns that the love of Water is only for Land. On that day Fire becomes very frustrated and flares up in anger and destroys everything that comes in its way. Seeing all this, all the sages get scared and at the same time start the same holy Yajna to quench the fire.
After pacifying Fire, the sage monks tell her about the sacred bond of Water and Land that is from the beginning. That the main reason for the structure of all the lives is the union of Land and Water. They tell Fire that both Water and Land are made for each other. Both are inseparable and incomplete without each other. Without water the land is barren and where there is no land there is no existence of water.
Poor Fire sacrifices her in the same holy Yajna to tie the love of both of them in a sacred and unbreakable bond of rituals. Since then this practice has been going on till today, to tie the two souls in the unbreakable bond of marriage, the sacrifice of fire is offered to Yajna so that no one can forget that sacrifice of Fire. And remembering her good deeds, every work is started by considering her as a witness during Yajna.
Even today, when Fire remembers that bad day when she came to know that the love of Water is impossible with her, she flares up and starts creating havoc.
Fire that can destroy everything in anger, no matter how strong or big a thing is. But it is the love of Fire for Water that whenever Fire hits Water, she extinguishes herself but she doesn’t wipe Water away.
